Who We are ...
The Christian Church is part of a worldwide nondenominational fellowship known as Christian Churches and Churches of Christ.

....Myrtle Point Christian Church is a non-denominational church. It is our desire to unite believers by holding fast to the essentials taught in Scripture, giving freedom to believers in the non-essentials, and maintaining Christian Love in all things.

Our Mission Statement ...
The First Christian Church exists to make disciples by presenting the gospel of Jesus Christ to all people and bringing them into a closer relationship with Him

We Believe ...
.......that Jesus Christ is the Son of God; that He lived, died and rose from the dead to provide, for all who will accept it, eternal life. We accept into membership those who believe in Jesus Christ and have been baptized into Him by immersion and are now desiring to live a consistent, holy Christian life.

.......that the Bible is the error-free Word of God. Through regular study, the Bible gives guidance in all areas of life.

 ...... in one God - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 5:16, 45; 6:1, 4, 8, 9; James 1:17 / John 1:1; 14:9 / Genesis 1:2; John 4:24; 14:16-20; 2 Peter 1:21; Romans 8:9-11)

..... God is the Creator of all things. (Genesis 1:1; Acts 17:24-28; Hebrews 11:3)

 ..... in Jesus Christ, God's only Son and Savior of the world. (John 1:14; 1 John 4:9 /John 3:16; 2 Peter 3:18)

..... in the Holy Spirit (John 16:5-15; Acts 1:7-8; Romans 8:26-27), Who indwells every Christian (1 Corinthians 3:16; 6:19; 2 Timothy 1:14)

..... in the Bible - God's Holy Word - without error in its original form, and inspired by the Holy Spirit. (Mark 12:36; John 14:26; 16:12-15; Acts 1:16; 1 Corinthians 2:12-13; 2 Timothy 3:14-16; 2 Peter 1:20-21)

..... in the Bible as the final authority for all matters of faith and practice. (Isaiah 40:8; Matthew 5:18; 24:35; Romans 15:4; Hebrews 4:12)

..... that man, created by God, willfully sinned and, as a result, is lost and without hope apart from Jesus Christ. (Genesis 3:6-7; Acts 4:12; Romans 3:23)

..... that salvation - the forgiveness of sins - comes by grace through the blood of Jesus Christ. (Matthew 26:28; Romans 3:25; 5:9; Ephesians 2:8-9; 1 Peter 1:18-19; 1 John 1:7)

..... the Bible teaches that one receives Christ as Lord and Savior by faith. (Romans 1:16-17; 5:1; Ephesians 2:8)

..... that faith is not just a state of mind, but an action that can be seen in our lives by: belief in Jesus Christ, repentance of personal sin, confession of Christ publicly, being immersed in baptism, and living in obedience to the commands of Christ. Each of these is clearly taught in the word of God as a response to true, saving faith. (Romans 5:1-2 / Luke 24:45-47; Acts 3:19; 17:30; 2 Peter 3:9 / Matthew 10:32; Romans 10:9; Philippians 2:11; 1 John 4:15 / Acts 2:38; Romans 6:1-7; Galatians 3:27; Colossians 2:12; 1 Peter 3:21; Matthew 28:20; / James 2:14-26)

.....that the church is the body and bride of Christ, was founded on the day of Pentecost, and consists of all Christians everywhere.
(1 Corinthians 12:27; Revelation 19:7; Matthew 16:13-18; Acts 2:1,14-47)

..... that God has ordained that elders are to exercise spiritual leadership and authority over the local congregation as servant leaders. (Acts 20:28; Philippians 1:1; 1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9; 1 Peter 5:1-4)

.....that death seals the eternal destiny of each person. When Christ returns, He will pronounce the eternal fate of each individual, both living and dead. The saved will be assigned eternal life; the unsaved will suffer eternal separation from God. (Hebrews 9:27; 2 Corinthians 5:10; Matthew 25:31-46)
